This course is of particular interest to those who may wish to undertake safety officer roles in their companies and is designed for those working in the manufacturing sector, who would like to study on a part-time basis.

This course is of particular interest to those who may wish to undertake safety officer roles in their companies. This programme will have a strong collaboration with pharmaceutical and food industries and other manufacturing sectors, in the form of guest speakers and site visits and is designed for those working in the manufacturing sector, who would like to study on a part-time basis.

This programme was developed in collaboration with ABP Food Group and is structured to facilitate those working in the Manufacturing Industry who wish to obtain knowledge and skills in health and safety.

Career Opportunities

Graduates from the Certificate in Health and Safety (manufacturing Industry) will have professional skills and knowledge in health and safety that will allow them to manage occupational health and safety risks in their companies.

It will equip with the skills to pursue safety officer roles in their companies. Graduates could also seek further education qualifications in the health and safety field.

Course Delivery and Modules

This is an online course. The programme will be delivered via live online lectures (for 1 hour each) over three evenings per week. 

Due to the online delivery of this course students should have access to a PC / Mac, a headset with a mic, and a broadband internet connection from home, so as to be able to fully participate in the course. Basic IT skills essential.

Fees and Funding

Total course fee: €385, payable as follows:

  • €200 Accept Offer fee (non refundable)
  • Balance of €185 payable by 31st October

Entry requirements

Applicants should have a minimum qualification at QQI Level 5 or Leaving Certificate qualification.

Applicants who do not have a Level 5 qualification will be considered on prior relevant experience and may be interviewed.

Applicants for whom English is not their first language must have English level of IELTS 5.0 or equivalent.
