Course Overview

Graduates from the current BSc (Hons) in Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship combine knowledge of business modules with design and engineering to give an appreciation of engineering in a product development context. The programme aim is to take an idea through the steps required to develop strategies in product realisation but also have the mind-set capable of recognising and pursuing business opportunities in an entrepreneurial or intrapreneurial manner. Graduates in BSc in Engineering Innovation and Entrepreneurship combine the knowledge of business modules with design to take an idea through the steps required to develop strategies in product realisation.

Our graduates have continued to many companies in the region including Enersol, Boeing, Abcon, SQS, Pro-Stainless, PayPal and local authorities. They have added to their capacities and have generally returned at higher levels to prior to commencing the programme.

Course Delivery and Modules

The course will be delivered flexibly, with 1 evening of online lectures per week as well as one full day in person at DkIT to complete group work assignments, projects, and laboratories. This will foster a sense of collegiality in the class and help build links between students. 

Provisionally Thursday evening online lecture, In in-person attendance on Fridays.

Entry requirements

Applicants must have a level 7 major award (or equivalent) in Engineering, Science or a technical area, with an average grade of 40% or above.

The Institute reserves the right to determine the suitability and relevance of feeder programmes.
