Project Description and Outputs

The Erasmus+ Strategic Partnership 'AMiE' - an acronym that stands for Arts & Mindfulness in Education - helps to meet this need by providing European teachers with inspirational and supportive tools regarding the introduction of mindfulness in pre-primary and primary education (age group 3 to 12). AMiE is unique in that it uses the power of art and creative processes as a starting point for the introduction of mindfulness in a school context. From their engagement in a previous strategic partnership the AMiE consortium had built up extensive expertise and experience in STEAM education (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics). It became clear that artistic processes were useful in a learning context and that art can serve to introduce mindfulness into the daily practice of pre-primary and primary schools. For this project we will collaborate with colleagues and students in the Department of Nursing, Midwifery and Early Years.

Outputs will include a calendar-based toolkit with playful exercises, a handbook for teachers, video lessons on arts and mindfulness, a methodological framework and guidelines for the curriculum implementation of arts and mindfulness in an educational context and the creation of mindful music, Train the trainer SPOC on arts and mindfulness will be organised.
