Schedules, Tips and Important Information about your Graduation from DkIT.

Conferring ceremonies are joyous occasions when the entire DkIT community comes together to honour its new graduates. The conferring of awards is a very special ceremony for you, your family and friends, and for the academic staff of DkIT who have guided you over the last number of years. We would like to congratulate you on this fantastic achievement and wish you every success in the future.

 

IMPORTANT THINGS TO NOTE FOR CONFERRING 2020:

  • In light of the COVID-19 Health Emergency, DkIT 2020 Conferring Ceremonies will take place virtually on 14th-15th December. See specific details on conferring schedules further below on this page.
  • A notification letter regarding conferring will be sent to your mailing address (address on the Banner student management system) before 14th November 2020. If you have not received this letter please email the Awards Office at awards@dkit.ie.
  • Information on this page is subject to change. Please keep referring back to this page for the latest updates on Conferring 2020.

DkIT Conferring Ceremonies 2020 will now take place online due to COVID-19 restrictions. A schedule of ceremonies can be found below. Details of how to access the ceremonies will be provided to graduands over the coming weeks.

Accessing the Ceremonies: Information on accessing your virtual conferring ceremony will be provided here in due course. Following the welcome address and introductions, each student group will be graduated in turn.

Booking Your Robes

If you choose to hire a gown for your Virtual Conferring Ceremony the official supplier of academic robes for DkIT, Armstrong and Oxford have adapted their online booking service to give students the option of hiring the correct academic robes for their award to wear at home and celebrate their achievement with their families.

How to Book Your Robes

Parchments

Hard copies of your conferring parchment will be posted to you (to the address recorded on the Student Management System) after the conferring ceremony.  If you do not receive your parchment within four weeks of your conferring ceremony please contact the Awards Office (Awards@dkit.ie).

Graduation Photographs

Photography

Lafayette Photography is providing private studio photography sittings (by appointment) in their Dublin studio where you and your family can avail of professional graduation and family photographs.

This service is available from Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm and can be booked online at www.lafayette.ie/portrait/book, by email at info@lafayette.ie or by calling 01-4295740

Certificate frames are also available to purchase online in the Lafayette online frame shop.

Please remember that in order to graduate all outstanding fees and fines must be paid in full.

Outstanding Fees/Fines/Library Books

In order for you to graduate all outstanding fees and fines up to the academic year 2019/2020 must be paid in full on or before 14th November 2020. To pay any outstanding fees please contact registration@dkit.ie.

Overdue library loans for the same period must also be returned by this date.

Student’s Union Graduates 2020 Celebration

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has made a commitment, subject to public health guidelines, to host an in-person graduates celebration event in conjunction with the DkIT Student’s Union for all 2020 graduates.
