Your Graduation

Conferring ceremonies are joyous occasions when the entire DkIT community comes together to honour its new graduates. The conferring of awards is a very special ceremony for you, your family and friends, and for the academic staff of DkIT who have guided you over the last number of years. We would like to congratulate you on this fantastic achievement and wish you every success in the future.

Please note that a notification letter regarding conferring will be sent to your mailing address (address on the Banner student management system) before 15th October 2018. If you have not received this letter by that date, please email the Awards Office at awards@dkit.ie.

Can't attend the ceremony?

If you are unable to attend the ceremony, your parchment will be awarded to you in absentia. You can confirm your non-attendance by completing our online form.

Booking Your Robes

The academic gown is part of the formal proceedings of the conferring ceremony and is a requirement for all graduands. Academic robes must be pre-booked on-line using a credit or debit card from the Institute’s robemakers, Armstrong and Oxford no later than 26th October 2018.

Ceremony Venue

Each ceremony will take place in the Multi-Purpose Centre (MPC) in the Faulkner Building (see Campus Map) and will last approximately one hour. The MPC is wheelchair accessible. If you or one of your guests requires assistance to access the venue or other parts of the campus, please let us know in advance by emailing awards@dkit.ie.

Guest Invitations

Admission to your conferring ceremony is strictly by ticket only (guest invitations). As a graduand you will be able to request 2 guest invitations when you book your academic robe. You can collect these on the day of your conferring when you pick up your robe. Guest invitation(s) will be required for admittance into the conferring hall.

Graduation Photographs

Photographs

Lafayette Photography are the official photographers to DkIT and have been authorised to take graduation photographs on the day of graduation. They will be located in the MacAnna Theatre on each day of graduation.

It is advisable to pre-book your photography online at www.lafayette.ie. Here you can activate your online account and view packages and prices. It is strongly recommended not to use any unofficial photographers who may be on the campus on the day.

Please remember that in order to graduate all outstanding fees and fines up to the academic year 2017/2018 must be paid in full on or before Friday 19th October 2018.

The Graduation Ball is a ticket only event organised by the DkIT’s Students Union and it will take place on Friday 2nd November 2018.

Privacy notice to all students and guests: All students and guests attending graduation ceremonies should be aware that photographs/videos will be taken at the ceremony and there will be official photographers on campus taking photos/videos on both graduation days. As part of accepting the invitation to attend the graduation ceremony and agreeing to the terms and conditions of graduation, you are agreeing to the possibility that you will be photographed/videoed. These photographs/videos may be used for the DkIT website, the DkIT social channels and for other promotional materials. Students who do not wish to be photographed or videoed have the option to graduate in absentia.
