This page has been updated to reflect the closure of the DkIT Campus to all students and staff until 5th May, as directed by the Department of Education and Skills.

Student Health

During the period of scheduled campus closure, the DkIT Health Unit staff are available via telephone from 9am to 5pm (weekdays) for advice to students. Please use the below telephone numbers:

Students who have flu-like symptoms are encouraged to ring their own GP or in the case of an emergency phone 999. Information on the Corona-Covid 19 Virus is available on HSE website.

What are the main services offered by the Health Unit?

Please note, The Health Unit is not a replacement for a students own General Practitioner ( G.P.). The services provided are as follows:

    • Day to day/On the day illness:
    • Minor Illness: e.g. cough and colds, chest infection, gastro-enteritis, urinary tract infection…
    • Recent/New Injuries: minor injuries, burns, dressings ect…
    • Sexual Health: e.g. advice in relation to contraception, and S.T.I. prevention.
    • Mental wellbeing: students can attend the Institute doctor for advice re. recent exam stress, referral to counsellor etc…  


During the period of campus closure, the Student Counselling Service will continue to provide a service by telephone, online and by video calls during normal working hours.

If you have a booked appointment your counsellor will contact you by phone or email and will discuss your support options with you. We are aware that you may not have privacy to engage by phone or video and in this case, we can have email contact.
