Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) are thrilled to be part of the Start for Future (SFF) initiative again this year. Start for Future (SFF) is an EU-funded international entrepreneurship development programme comprising of training, specialist coaching and incubation support across three different stages of the start-up process: LEARN (idea development), Match & Start (preparing for incubation) and Develop & Co-create (international incubation and start-up).
From April to June 2024, DkIT students - across all academic schools and across all years (undergraduate and postgraduate, including DkIT alumni) - will have the opportunity to participate in the first stage of Start for Future – SFF LEARN.
Through the LEARN programme, students will collaborate with their peers from 30+ universities globally to develop a business idea concept, designed to address real-world challenges. Ideas must be in one of the following SFF topic areas (‘verticals’), Energy, Mobility, Manufacturing, Circular Economy, Health or Food
SFF LEARN comprises of five online sessions and will be led by international domain experts. The programme culminates in a final pitch competition in which participants can win prizes and advancement opportunities.
Participants will get access to the extensive SFF entrepreneurial network which includes a broad range of industry partners who can support students to create highly impactful, profitable and scalable business models.
The programme provides an opportunity to improve those critical soft skills that employers are now prioritizing such as communication, creativity, time management and teamwork. Students will also develop their ability to provide peer feedback, and practice presentation and pitching skills. Participating on this initiative is the perfect way to enhance entrepreneurial skills whilst receiving mentorship from industry experts. Students will also expand their network internationally and get matched with international peers to exchange ideas and learning. DkIT students will also have the opportunity to compete for prizes and gain an official EU SFF LEARN Certificate of Completion
