Online Support at DkIT
24 April 2020On 12th March 2020, like other higher education institutes across Ireland, Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) took the extraordinary decision to close its campus to students and staff due to the COVID-19 health emergency, in line with guidance issued by the Government.
DkIT moved to an online platform to facilitate the continuation of learning at the Institute. Lecturers have been uploading teaching resources through email and Moodle, the virtual learning environment. Moodle is a fully responsive system that works well through web browsers on multiple mobile devices to give users the same information and experiences as on their computer and can be used with 3G and 4G data services on a mobile device.
DkIT is also able to offer Microsoft Office365 which means all our students and staff have access to Email, Onedrive storage, TEAMs for conferencing and collaboration and the full suite of Office products at no additional cost to them. In addition, purveyors of a number of types of software, in collaboration with DkIT, have provided off-campus options for students including; Adobe, Protools, Sibelius, Reaper, Autodesk, Final Cut Pro, Unity 3D, CD-Burn.DDP.Master PRO, Minitab, SPSS, MatLab, Solidworks, AnySys, LabView and Protheus.
If you are having password difficulties or problems connecting to your Moodle, Institute email or other IT issues, please raise a ticket on the IT Helpdesk at https://helpdesk.dkit.ie. If unable to raise a ticket then send an email to Helpdesk@dkit.ie with your problem/request. The IT Helpdesk is being managed remotely, but when raising a ticket or emailing please include your contact details and as much detail as possible to assist IT technical support team in responding and resolving.
