Mechanical Engineering Students Welcomed to Combilift
16 February 2024Underlining the importance of co-operation with regional industry, Combilift Head of Engineering and DkIT Mechanical Engineering Graduate Martin Treanor, recently welcomed Level 7 and 8 Mechanical Engineering undergraduates for a site visit. Combilift, based in Monaghan, is the largest global manufacturer of multi-directional, articulated forklifts, exporting to more than 85 countries and with more than 80,000 trucks in use worldwide.
Incorporating a factory tour and valuable tips on maximising employability skills, the visit offered DkIT students a close up view of the design and manufacturing facilities. Celebrating 25 years in business and citing the importance of DkIT graduates to the development of the company over that period, Martin outlined the company's latest new products and highlighted for students how the skills they acquire in college are immediately useful in the workplace.
