About the Information Literacy Prize

The Information Literacy Prize was first launched in 2010 to acknowledge student excellence in academic writing. The Information Literacy Prize was developed by De Chastelain Library in association with the Centre for Learning and Teaching (CELT). Library and academic staff will be assessing the entries.

We have two Kindle Fire tablets to give as prizes: one to the student who demonstrates the most engaging piece of academic writing, and the other to the student who can best explain how the information provided in the feedback will be used in other assignments.

  • Phase 1: Submit something you are currently working on as part of your coursework (or you can write a piece specifically for the competition) and complete a short questionnaire. The most engaging piece will receive a Kindle Fire tablet. We will then provide you with feedback on what you have done well and areas you might like to work on.
  • Phase 2: When you get the feedback on your written work you can then complete an online Reflections on the Feedback form. This is the information that will be judged for the prize for best engagement with feedback, the prize for which is a Kindle Fire tablet.
