Dundalk Institute of Technology and Louth LGFA Launch Sports Scholarship Programme Co Funded by Dundalk Credit Union22 October 2021
Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) and Louth LGFA have officially launched a new scholarship programme for 2021. The programme is supporting a number of Louth LGFA minor and senior players who wish to pursue a third level qualification in DkIT. The scholarships are co funded by DkIT and Dundalk Credit Union.
Speaking at the launch in DKIT Sport, DkIT Sports and Societies Officer Derek Crilly said;
We’re delighted to welcome the first intake of Louth LGFA players as part of the scholarship programme. This scholarship programme will ensure we can support highly talented GAA stars achieve their academic and sporting ambitions in DkIT. We look forward to working with Louth LGFA in the coming years. I’d like to thank Dundalk Credit Union for their generous support

This programme allows us to demonstrate our commitment to the Louth Ladies both on and off the pitch. We know the players’ academic journey is just as important as their sports development and this programme allows our Co Louth GAA talent to realise both their career and sports goals successfully.
While, Louth LGFA Chairperson, Liam O Neill commented;
following our recent review of ladies football in the county we identified supporting our players at third level as a key priority. We’re delighted to link up DkIT and I have no doubt that our players will benefit from the sporting facilities and supports available on the campus whilst also completing a third level qualification close to home.
