DkIT to Participate in National Academic Integrity Week

DkIT is a participant in the National Academic Integrity Network (NAIN). The National Academic Integrity Week, curated by Quality and Qualifications Ireland (QQI), is taking place from 19th October  – 23rd October 2020 with national events being offered by NAIN members as well as webinars offered by the European Network for Academic Integrity and the International Center for Academic Integrity.



The International Day for Academic Integrity and against Contract Cheating is taking place on 21st October 2020 and is also QQI’s first National Day.

DkIT are contributing to the Academic Integrity Week schedule with 4 events taking place over the week:

Academic Integrity Digital Badge for Students Launch

This session will launch the DkIT Library Digital Badge for students on Academic Integrity.

 

In this digital badge students will:

 

  • Learn what academic integrity is and why it is important.
  • Understand how academic integrity relates to all of your work in DkIT.
  • Recognise when you need to give credit to others.
  • Be familiar with citing and referencing using Harvard.

Stress is known to be associated with plagiarism and poor academic practice.  This short, interactive session will explore effective ways for students to manage time and competing deadlines to promote good academic practice.
