DkIT Students to Benefit from Major Investment in IT and Lab Upgrade

20 January 2017

Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) has today announced a significant investment of €750,000 in its IT infrastructure and laboratory equipment, signalling a major boost for current and incoming students in healthscienceinformaticsengineeringcreative arts and business.

The investment, which came about via a devolved grant from the Higher Education Authority (HEA), is directed specifically towards enriching the teaching and learning environment with access to some of the latest technologies in computing and laboratory apparatuses. Results from the 2016 Irish Survey of Student Engagement (ISSE) published in December last year, highlight the need for higher education providers to continue to invest in services that support the learning and development of students. DkIT’s recent investment aims to do this with advancements in IT equipment that will provide more innovative teaching and learning spaces for its students on campus.

Speaking today, President of DKIT Ann Campbell said:

I am delighted to announce this important investment in our facilities. In today’s digital age, our students need access to the latest technology and equipment to ensure that they are taught, learn and develop in a future-thinking environment. This is central to our commitment to equipping our graduates with relevant, job-ready skills to tackle the real-world problems of tomorrow.”
