DkIT Students Nominated for The National Student Media Awards 2017

05 April 2017

Congratulations to Eleanor Bell from the Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music on being nominated for The National Student Media Awards 2017. This is the 17th Annual Student Media Awards and the ceremony will take place on 6 April in the Aviva Stadium. The aim of the awards is to celebrate and honour the work produced in student publications, websites, radio, television and film. These awards give students the opportunity to showcase work they have completed during their studies to key figures within the media industry who will be in attendance, while the event is an excellent networking opportunity for the students. Eleanor Bell, Year 4 student has been nominated in the ‘Film Script of the Year’ category. The script is called ‘Between Us’ which deals with abuse in same-sex couples. The synopsis of the story is as follows: Conner and Jenny run into each other by accident one evening in a petrol station shop. They say sorry and move on. When they both get back home to their partners they begin to feel unsafe. Later that night Jenny and Conner meet again in horrible circumstances.

Abdallah Aldobaikhi, Year 2 student in Business Studies has been nominated for 'Best Photographer of the Year'.

Full details on the awards are available here - http://www.oxygen.ie/smedias-nominations-2017/
