DkIT Professor Receives Research Ally Award

Dundalk Institute of Technology are delighted to report that Professor Mark Hollywood from the award-winning Smooth Muscle Research Centre at DkIT was recently announced as a recipient of a 2023 Research Ally which is bestowed by the Irish Research Council. Professor Hollywood received this prestigious Research Ally recognition which is a specific award for supervisors, mentors, research and technical support officers who have made especially valued contributions to the research community. These awards are a reminder of the importance of mentorship, collegiality, and mutual support in the research community.

Professor Mark Hollywood said of the award,

“I feel honoured to have received this 2023 Research Ally Award, particularly since it is based on nominations from students. To be honest, I feel that all the researchers I work with are so dedicated and passionate in their pursuit of research and give so much, so willingly, to each of our students, that they all deserve to share this award”.
