DkIT Lecturer Seconded to National Forum
13 October 2020Dr. Ronan Bree, a molecular bioscience lecturer and researcher from DkIT’s Department of Life and Health Sciences, has joined the National Forum for the Enhancement of Teaching and Learning in Higher Education on secondment. Ronan joins the Forum as an Education Developer, where he will work on national priority initiatives in the sector. He brings a wealth of experience in the area, being a strong leader in evidence-based, teaching and learning research as well as working on national enhancement projects in this space.
Ronan states:
“I am very excited by the opportunity to work the National Forum. For several years, they have been a significant catalyst for the teaching and learning culture developed across Higher Education Institutions, all centred on maximising the learning impact for the success of all students. I look forward to partnering with, and supporting colleagues, learners and leaders in Higher Education. I’m grateful for the support I received from DkIT, in particular CELT, during recent years. While excited about the new role, equally, I am going to miss my colleagues and students at DkIT, but will be returning in June. I would like to wish everyone the best of luck for the year ahead.”
Ronan’s focus with the National Forum will centre on promoting and supporting teaching and learning enhancement within and across disciplines, a National Forum strategic priority, with a particular focus on filtering and sharing existing resources developed by the sector. He will also focus on leveraging the potential of the 107 Strategic Alignment of Teaching and Learning Enhancement (SATLE) Funding initiatives currently being undertaken by subject area communities across the country.
