DkIT students from the School of Informatics and Creative Arts travelled to the University of Lodz, Poland, to take part in the intensive Generic Game for Ubiquitous Learning in Interactive Virtual and Real Realities (GGULIVRR) project from 11th-21st September. Students who were selected to take part in the project were from a range of courses in DkIT including BSc (Hons) in Computing in Games Development, BSc (Hons) in Computing in Software Development, BA (Hons) in Film & Television Production and BSc in Computing.
The multidisciplinary project, which is in its 6th year, involved lecturers and students from Poland, Belgium, Finland, Portugal, Ireland, France, Slovenia and Ukraine. Organised by Faculty of Physics & Applied Informatics in the University of Lodz, GGULIVRR gave DkIT students the opportunity to work with international students from other courses such as Games, Computer Science, Business, Teacher Training, Tourism, Multimedia and Digital Media allowing students to make new friends and connections worldwide. The students were grouped into ten teams which resulted in a huge amount of interaction between the international students. Film & Television Production students teamed up with two French and Polish film students, and were responsible for creating a documentary of the project. You can see the documentary produced by the Film & Television Production students here.
