Speaking today at the launch of Seachtain na Gaeilge Virtual Programme, Eamonn De Barra, DkIT Irish Language Officer added,

“The Irish international festival, Seachtain na Gaeilge, is the largest celebration of our native language and culture taking place in Ireland and in many other countries each year. DkIT has a long established reputation for supporting the festival and the promotion of Irish language, arts and culture in general. I am delighted to continue it this tradition with a new virtual programme in 2021 and I’d like to thank colleagues across the Institute, in particular the De Chastelain Library and the Sports & Societies office for helping us develop such an eclectic programme of activities.

With everything from language classes, quizzes, concerts, literary events and more, there is certainly an event to suit everyone’s tastes.”

Agus é ag tagairt do Chlár Fíorúil Sheachtain na Gaeilge, chuir Éamonn De Barra, Oifigeach na Gaeilge againn in ITDD | DkIT síos air:

“Is féile idirnáisiúnta Ghaeilge í Seachtain na Gaeilge, atá ar an gceiliúradh is mó dár dteanga agus dár gcultúr dúchais a bhíonn ar siúl in Éirinn agus in go leor tíortha eile gach bliain.

Tá cáil seanbhunaithe ar DkIT as tacú leis an bhféile agus chun Gaeilge, ealaíona agus cultúr na Gaeilge a chur chun cinn i gcoitinne. Tá an-áthas orm leanúint leis an dtraidisiún seo le clár fíorúil nua i 2021 agus ba mhaith liom buíochas a ghabháil le comhghleacaithe ar fud na hInstitiúide, go háirithe Leabharlann De Chastelain agus an Oifig Spóirt & Cumann as a leithéid de chlár spreagúil a éascú agus a reáchtáil linn.

Ó ranganna teanga, go tráth na gceist, ceolchoirmeacha, go himeachtaí liteartha agus go leor eile, is cinnte go bhfuil rud éigin ann do gach éinne. ”
