DkIT Asian Society host Spring Festival Ball 2019

01 April 2019

The 2019 Spring Festival Ball, presented by the DKIT Asian Society, was successfully held in Lisdoo Restaurant on 20th of February..

Over 130 students and lecturers attended the event, which kicked off with a dinner buffet followed by performances from the students.

The first singing show ‘Perfect’ was presented by Chang Guo a 4th year student from BSc in Computing Science, followed by students from Griffith College Dublin who entertained the students and lectureres with a wonderful street dance performance.

Then DkIT students Alvin, Cara and Bryan from Malaysia performed 3 Chinese songs together, with 1st year Mechanical Engineering student Zachary playing a famous piano song ‘Nocturne oublié’.

After that, Niuniu and Hanghang provided a very different ambiance, using the flute and bagpipe to play a traditional Irish song. Carrie from the DkIT Asian Society rounded off the performances with a traditional instrument ‘guzheng’.

Apart from the brilliant performances, the Asian Society also provided many prizes for attendees, including vouchers from Asian Supply and Market Bar, including bottles of wine and sweets, etc.

We are so proud of our Asian students’ talents and we were glad to see everyone enjoyed the night to celebrate our traditional festival together here in Dundalk.

The DkIT Asian Society would like to say thanks to the DkIT International Office; Derek Crilly, Sports & Societies Officer at DkIT; Maria Maguire and Aaron Geagan, DKIT SU President and Vice President;  Glenn Mc Court who helped with the prizes; Dave Newman for being DJ for the Spring Festival for 3 years - he made the night - and all the Staff from the Lisdoo restaurant.
