AI in Healthcare Programme Nears Completion, Catalysing Innovation Across Ireland
16 April 2025The second phase of the AI in Healthcare Programme is set to conclude this month, marking a pivotal advancement in the integration of artificial intelligence within Ireland's healthcare sector. Over the past six months, eleven AI-focused healthcare startups from across the island have engaged in this transformative initiative, a collaborative effort involving the Connected Health & Wellbeing Cluster, The Data Innovation Hub, and dConnect, with support from InterTradeIreland’s 'Synergy' funding.
The programme was meticulously designed to equip participants with specialised AI competencies and strategic insights. It offered tailored sessions, hands-on mentoring, and collaborative learning opportunities, enabling founders to refine their concepts, assess feasibility, and develop prototypes aimed at revolutionising healthcare delivery. Workshops and expert-led sessions ensured alignment with industry needs, fostering collaboration, innovation, and market readiness.
As the programme draws to a close, these startups are now poised to introduce cutting-edge AI solutions with the potential to transform patient care. Participants have lauded the initiative for its comprehensive support and the conducive environment it provided for innovation.
Maria, one of the participants, remarked,
"In a world where AI and information overload can be overwhelming, the team at DKIT stands out as a trusted and safe space. They invest individualised time and effort into understanding your vision, fostering a deep understanding that is invaluable in today’s fast-paced environment."
The AI in Healthcare Programme exemplifies Ireland's commitment to fostering innovation and collaboration in the digital health arena. By bridging the gap between technology and patient care, initiatives like this are set to play a crucial role in shaping the future of healthcare delivery.
