3rd year Film & TV students receive masterclass from Film & TV Producer

On Thursday 17th December, 3rd year students on the BA (Hons) in Film & Television Production received a 2 hour masterclass from Film & TV Producer Julie Ryan of MK1 Productions.

On Thursday 17th December, 3rd year students on the BA (Hons) in Film & Television Production received a 2 hour masterclass from Film & TV Producer Julie Ryan of MK1 Productions - https://mk1productions.wordpress.com/ as part of their Project Part 1 module, led by lecturer Sarah McCann.

Julie is an IFTA nominated producer and has worked with 20th Century Fox, Fox Movie Channel, Walt Disney Animation, Paramount, Lionsgate, Sony Pictures, MTV, UTV, TV3, RTE, Chek TV.  She specializes in film and TV drama with a history in entertainment, factual, comedy and sports programming along with experience in live and pre-recorded studio environments, hidden camera and documentary.

Julie's first feature film producer credit is the Young Offenders movie. Her most recent feature film producer credit is from the movie Finding You, starring Oscar winning Canessa Redgrave and Derry actors Saoirse Monika Jackson, which has worldwide release this Spring. 

Julie's masterclass was based around her new TV series 'Intruders' for ITV/Channel 5, recently shot in Ireland under new Covid 19 filming protocols.  In this case study, she addressed areas such as Script, Casting, Budgeting, Locations, Crew, Facilities, Contracting and Post Production.

The series is set to air in April 2021 on ITV/Channel 5.
