The DigiBio Innovator’s Programme is a digital health innovation programme providing hands on training in needs led innovation. During the programme participants will spend a period of immersion in a healthcare environment where they will identify and assess unmet needs with a view to prototyping and validating potential solutions and building viable investable business opportunities. Throughout the programme participants will be supported with mentorship by clinical, industry and technology experts.
The programme is run by Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) in partnership with RCSI University of Medicine and Health Sciences (core partner), Dublin City University, Trinity College Dublin and Tyndall National Institute. DigiBio is supported under the Innovators’ Initiative Programme co-funded by the Government of Ireland and the European Union through the Southern, Eastern & Midland Regional Programme 2021-2027.
The 10-month post graduate diploma programme will run annually commencing in September 2024 and includes an 8 – 10-week period immersed in a target healthcare environment which will be provided through our consortium partners.
Through the programme’s “learn by doing” approach, participants will become highly skilled innovators, who will learn to identify, select and address unfulfilled market needs and build commercially viable business plans.
Opportunities for digital solutions will include areas such as mobile health, health data and information technologies, AI, digital therapeutics, wearable devices, telehealth, telemedicine, and personalized medicine. Access to expertise and mentorship across these areas will be available through the consortium partners.
DigiBio is aimed at high calibre experienced individuals with either clinical, commercial, financial, entrepreneurial and/or technical backgrounds. No fees apply to participate in the programme and participants will receive a stipend of €38k for full time engagement in the 10-month programme.
Programme launch and participant recruitment for our September intake will start early in 2024.
