Getting an ISBN/ISSN

ISBN  -International Standard Book Number-  is a unique number assigned to and used to identify a particular edition of a book, used by publishers, libraries and booksellers. 

  • If you publish with a commercial publisher, they will assign an ISBN to the book.
  • To apply for an ISBN to publish the book privately, see the Nielsen UK ISBN Agency Website
  • If you want to publish under the Dundalk Institute of Technology imprint, please contact the Library for an ISBN. 

ISSN - International Standard Serial Number - is a unique number assigned to a journal or magazine. Assigning an ISSN to a journal maximises its visibility and discoverability.
