Becoming a Member of DkIT Library

We offer membership to those over the age of 18. Members can borrow 7 items at any one time, including DVDs and CDs. 4 Day Loan and Short Loan items may not be borrowed. 

We recommend that you first become a member of Louth County Libraries and ask for your data to be transferred to us through our joint 1 Card 6 Libraries initiative. It's free to join Louth County Libraries. Read more about 1 Card 6 Libraries here.

All you then have to do is fill out the 1 Card 6 Libraries membership form below. Print it out, enter your details, and return it to us. Forms are also available at the Library Desk.



You also have the option to become a member of DkIT Library by following these steps.

  1. Complete a membership form in the Library or online (see below)
  2. Pay the fee if applicable
  3. Supply the necessary documentation and passport photo

Membership cards will normally be sent to your home address. When you receive the card you may borrow.

Membership fees and concessions

Individual (external) = €25
Students of other colleges (North/South Ireland only) = €20
DkIT alumni = €15
Unemployed = free
Members of voluntary associations = free
Mount Oliver Trust = free
Senior citizens = free
NEFHEA = free
Drogheda Civic Trust = free

Current members of Louth County Libraries can join DkIT Library for no additional fee under the 1 Card 6 Libraries initiative.

Your application must be accompanied by:

  • Current signed passport, driving licence or other photo ID
  • Recent (within 3 months) original utility bill
  • One passport-size photograph, with your name written on the back
  • Student ID if a member of another college

If applying online, proof of ID must be shown in the Library and the documentatation listed above should be provided before membership is activated.

To qualify for reduced or free membership you must present proof of status.
The minimum age of applicants is 18 years . 
Members must agree to the Library Code of Conduct.
