Siubhán Ó Dubháin is a native of Rostrevor, County Down, is a founder staff member and Lecturer in Composition in Ceol Oirghialla, She has had over 30 years teaching experience at all levels, and has worked as an examiner, adjudicator, composer, performer, conductor, producer, novelist, and dramatist. She has also been closely involved with the recording industry, as a music arranger and researcher. An authority on early Italian opera, she has worked on the reconstruction, realisation and stage production of compositions from that period. She has also written, composed and directed many dramatic works including four ceoldramaí, music theatre for young people, as Gaeilge. Her productions have been staged in Monaco, Malta, Madrid, Paris and Edinburgh. A former member of NI Arts Council Music and Opera Committees, she is also involved in arts administration and has directed the Tom Dunn Society’s annual summer school for twenty years. She has also had two historical novels published, both set in the 1798 era with Brandon Book Publishers under the pen name of Kathleen O’Farrell.
