Miss. Karlaaniela CepedaZapata

Karla Cepeda is a PhD candidate at the Regulated Software Research Centre (RSRC). She is working on developing a framework to regulate Artificial Intelligence technologies as part of Medical Devices to ensure trustworthiness and compliance. She believes that using AI in the healthcare industry is key to exploring the vast amount of clinical data and leveraging the health service for better and faster assistance to patients and users. She holds a BA in Computer Science from the  Universidad Autonoma de Nuevo León in Mexico and an MSc in Data Analytics from Dundalk Institute of Technology.

After achieving First-Class Honours on the MSC in Data Analytics at DkIT, Karla earned the 2021 Presendent's Academic Excellence Award.
