Research in the Agri-Environmental Management theme of CFES incorporates research that investigates the impact and integration of agricultural practices within the wider environment in Ireland, the use of technologies and management strategies that improve the sustainability and productivity of agricultural enterprises, and the opportunities for agricultural resources to contribute to the circular bioeconomy both nationally and internationally.
Research in the Agri-Environmental Management theme is multi-disciplinary and highly collaborative, comprising of field surveying and experimentation on soil, plant and other organic resource samples, laboratory analysis across a range of scientific disciplines along with qualitative studies.
Researchers contribute to national and internationally funded projects, along with enterprise-linked innovation initiatives, whilst also integrating this cutting-edge research in Agri-focused undergraduate and MSc level programmes delivered in the Department of Agriculture, Food and Animal Health at DkIT.
