This course is designed to allow graduates of the existing Level 7 BA in Video & Film Production (and other similar programmes elsewhere) the opportunity to progress to a related Level 8 BA within the Dundalk Institute of Technology.

The programme features industry-driven modules, a work placement and an innovative focus on practice-based research, which will produce graduates with the required skillset and competencies to work successfully in the dynamic international and domestic film and television industry.  

 In Semester 1, students partake in a 6-week Work Placement, along with the following modules:

  • Current Issues & Theories in Creative Media
  • Practice-Based Research: Methodology
  • Production Management

In Semester 2, students undertake the following modules:

  • Directing: Fiction and Non-Fiction
  • Entrepreneurship
  • Practice-based Research: Project
  • Production Design 

Applicants to this programme should have successfully completed the BA in Video & Film Production with an overall pass and a minimum overall average of 50% achieved in one sitting. Students who have completed Bachelor programmes to the minimum level in similar subjects at other institutions are also eligible to apply.
