This one year, add-on honours degree aims to build on the practical and theoretical knowledge gained by the student the Level 7 Communications in Creative Multimedia degree in DKIT, or indeed, in similiar Level 7 degrees from other third-level Institutes. Theoretical modules will integrate the skills, knowledge and understanding that students have developed in their ordinary degrees. The practical modules will elevate students' skillbase to a higher, more specialised level.

The programme prepares students to become industry professionals with a focus on the core competencies and skills necessary for careers in this expanding field. Focus on public exhibition is a key characteristic of this final-year degree, with a large proportion of student effort converging for the end of year Creative Media Degree Show (entitled Fís, click here for more info).

This focus helps simulate the work environment, while also ensuring that students graduate with a substantial portfolio of high quality work.

Note: Applicants may have to demonstrate experience in core competencies before selecting electives.  Students choose one elective each semester.

 

Applicants to this programme should have successfully completed the BA in Communications in Creative Multimedia with an overall pass and a minimum overall average of 50% achieved in one sitting. Students who have completed Bachelor programmes to the minimum level in similar subjects at other institutions are also eligible to apply.
