This Quality Manual is the first published update of the Institute’s 2004 Quality Manual.

This Manual takes as its quality assurance standard, the Standards and Guidelines for Quality Assurance in the European Higher Education Area, (ENQA 2005). It therefore sets out the Institute’s Quality Policies under the seven areas identified in the standard as follows:

1. Policy and Procedures for Quality Assurance
2. Approval, Monitoring and Periodic Review of Programmes and Awards
3. Assessment of Students
4. Learning Resources and Student Support
5. Quality Assurance of Teaching Staff
6. Information Systems
7. Public Information

For each area, the Manual sets out how the quality policy is communicated, implemented, managed, measured and evaluated. It describes how continual improvement is supported and establishes key performance indicators and goals and objectives.
