New Full and Part-time programmes in Veterinary Nursing launched by DkIT starting this September.

11 August 2020

DkIT are delighted to announce a suite of new programmes in Veterinary Nursing which will commence in the 2020/21 academic year.

Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Veterinary Nursing (1 year full time or 2 years part-time)
With the following minor awards:

Certificate in Emergency and Critical Care Veterinary Nursing (one semester part time)
Certificate in Clinical Governance, Leadership and Evidence Based Veterinary Care (one year part-time)
Certificate in Advanced Veterinary Analytical Techniques (one semester part time)

The add-on BSc (Honours) programme is open to graduates of accredited level 7 qualifications in Veterinary Nursing and can be accessed on either a full time or part time basis. It will facilitate the development of knowledge, skills and attributes which will support veterinary nurses in practice as their roles expand and evolve, thereby ensuring long-term competent practice. The programme also provides an opportunity for newly qualified and experienced veterinary nurses to continue their education by obtaining a level 8 qualification.

In addition to the provision of an honours degree qualification, minor awards from the programme will be offered to support the upskilling of nurses in practice. DkIT will apply to the Veterinary Council of Ireland for the allocation of CVE points to these awards.

More detailed information on the programmes and how to apply can be found here
