Music Students Participated in Output Music Industry Conference
14 February 2018Students from the BA (Hons) Production of Music & Audio visited Belfast to attend the 2018 edition of the Output music industry conference.
Accompaniedy by staff they attended panels and workshops covering a wide range of topics, from the technical to the artistic to the business side of music.
Output has been running annually for the last four years, based in Belfast’s MAC and Oh Yeah centre, hubs for the creative industries. The conference was attended by over 400 participants and featured over 20 panels, presentations, keynotes and workshops from leading players in the industry.
Our students were able to get high-level insights into how to compose for games, get a festival gig, place their music in TV and film soundtracks and perhaps most importantly get paid for making music!
The conference was followed by a number of evening gigs, showcasing Northern Ireland’s finest up and coming musical talent, taking place in venues across the Cathedral Quarter and hosted by Irish record labels, management companies, blogs and media organisations.
It was a wonderful opportunity for students to get valuable insights into the music industry as they consider their future career paths.
