Finian’s Rainbow at Dundalk Institute of Technology
08 March 2018DkIT’s Department of Creative Arts, Media and Music proudly presents an adaptation of the hit Broadway musical Finian's Rainbow.
The musical will take place on Thursday 15 March at 7pm in the MacAnna Theatre.
Students from the Musical Theatre, Jazz, and Trad Ensembles from the BA (Hons) Applied Music programme have worked on a new version of this wonderful Broadway's classic with the collaboration of students from the BA Theatre and Film Practice and BA (Hons) Production of Music and Audio programmes.
The script and scenes had been reviewed by the creative team of students and new musical numbers selected by the Ensembles, especially for our local audiences. The production continues the tradition of presenting musical theatre in an innovative manner and follows the success of recent productions that include classics like South Pacific (2015) and No No Nanette, and the original DkIT production In Great Company (2016). Finian’s Rainbow is a wonderfully uplifting story with a great selection of songs including ‘Look to the Rainbow’ and ‘That Great Come and Get it Day’.
