Dundalk Institute of Technology extends collaboration with Creative Spark

06 May 2025

Dundalk Institute of Technology and Creative Spark, Dundalk’s Centre for Creativity, and Innovation recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to continue their collaboration.

The first MOU between DkIT and Creative Spark was signed in 2018 and has led to several fantastic opportunities for both parties and the local community.

Some of the partnership achievements to date include: creative supports for DkIT’s Creative Media students, including opportunities such as a screen-printing workshop in the hub, yearly placements for DkIT students within the companies in Creative Spark, successful joint applications for creative courses under the Springboard initiative and DkIT support for the Creative Spark Regional Development Fund application as a training partner for its Enterprise FabLab.

Speaking at the signing of the MoU, Aidan Browne, Head of Innovation & Business Development at DKIT said:

“We are delighted to sign this MoU which signifies our continued collaboration with Creative Spark. Our partnership has been of significant value for the local community, enterprise and DkIT staff and students. Since 2018, this collaboration has led to many great opportunities, and I look forward to our continued growth with Creative Spark.”

Sarah Daly, Executive Director, Creative Spark added:

“This new MOU builds on the successful interactions of the past six years. Over 160 students have directly participated in opportunities at Creative Spark, and, in turn, our occupant companies and members have benefitted from closer ties to the institution and campus. We look forward to continuing to work together with DkIT for the benefit of the local community and the wider region.”
