DkIT to Host Game Jam Competition

18 March 2018

On March 22nd, the School of Informatics and Creative Arts at Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) will host its first "Game Jam" event.

A Game Jam is a hackathon for games. It is a gathering of people for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games within a short span of time, usually ranging between 24 and 72 hours, and some even longer.

Participants are generally made up of programmers, game designers, artists, writers, and others in game development-related fields. The event will take place in the PJ Carroll Building from 9:00am to 9:00pm. Teams of students will each plan, design and create a game within a 12-hour timespan. As well as honing their design and coding skills, the students who participate in this competition will improve their communication and creativity skills.

This promises to be a fun and lively event!

The event organisers would like to thank Nebula Innovations for sponsoring this event.
