DkIT Student Nurse Represents Ireland at WHO Event
14 April 2023Dundalk Institute of Technology (DkIT) are beyond honoured to report that one of their year 4 nursing student’s Katie Shanley recently represented all student nurses of Ireland at a World Health Organisation (WHO) conference in Bucharest.
During this notable convention Katie performed with excellence, proudly representing all her fellow student nurses of Ireland as she spoke so proficiently alongside the Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, Karen Greene on the topic of how the Department of Health currently support Irish Student Nurses and Midwives.
Katie attended the WHO European Regional meeting in Bucharest alongside the Chief Nursing Officer, Rachel Kenna, and Deputy Chief Nursing Officer, Karen Greene, and other members of the Irish CNO’s office.
Katie Shanley, Year 4 student said,
“It was such a fantastic opportunity. I was representing all Irish student nurses and I was absolutely thrilled to meet so many internationally esteemed nurses like the WHO Chief Nurse, Amelia Tuipulotu and WHO Nursing & Midwifery Policy Advisor Europe, Maggie Langins”.
