The session takes place on the DkIT Campus, Saturday, 14th January from 10AM to 1PM to assist parents and school-leavers with the completion of the CAO applications.
With the CAO application deadline of February 1st fast approaching, Leaving Cert students and their parents are faced with making big decisions in relation to future careers, further education and training. The DkIT CAO Information Session on January 14th is aimed at helping alleviate undue stress from this process by providing prospective students and parents with face-to-face support as they complete their applications.
The session will include general information on all DkIT programmes, a support clinic with tips on how best to complete the CAO application form and academic staff will be on hand to answer queries and address any concerns school leavers or parents may have. The session is open to all members of the public including Leaving Certificate students and mature students who would like to see DkIT facilities at first hand and learn more about DkIT programmes.
Speaking today, Schools Liaison Officer, Diarmuid Cahill who leads the organisation of the session, said: “Completing CAO applications can be a very daunting for students and their parents. Career decisions, the race for points and college places and training requirements are just some of the common concerns we hear from anxious parents and students. This session has been organised to help reassure students that the CAO process is very straightforward and will provide useful tips on how to approach the completion of the forms. I would welcome all parents and staff to come along to our campus on January 14th from 10AM to 1PM to meet with our staff and current students.”
“DkIT is happy to facilitate individual visits or group tours which can be arranged through our Schools Liaison Office. Email: firstname.lastname@example.org or +353-0429070208 ext. 2723 ,” adds Mr Cahill. See www.dkit.ie for information on all programmes and student life in DkIT.
