Dr Biel Obrador

NETLAKE STSM to Marine Institute, Ireland, host Dr Elvira de Eyto

This STSM will focus on the analysis of an existing dataset of dissolved oxygen data at Lake Furnace (Ireland) in order to evaluate the response of lake metabolism to fluctuating hydrological forcings (tidal influence and freshwater inputs from the catchment).  During the STSM Biel Obrador, University of Barcelona, will work on the calculation of lake metabolism using recently developed methodologies to estimate depth specific metabolism.  The STSM will be performed in collaboration with two NETLAKE members: Dr Elvira de Eyto (host centre at Marine Institute, Furnace, Ireland), who will provide the dataset, and Dr Eleanor Jennings (Dundalk Institute of Technology, Dundalk, Ireland).
