Welcome to the School of Informatics and Creative Arts

Welcome to the School of Informatics and Creative Arts! If you are technically oriented and/or have a strong creative or artistic streak then we most likely have a course to interest and suit you. The Department of Computing & Mathematics is one of the longest established departments in the Institute, while the Department of Music & Creative Media is one of the newest. We have brought these different areas together under the one umbrella with a view to producing new, exciting and innovative courses suitable for the economic and social needs of the 21st century.

We hope that you’ll find a course here that will meet your requirements and that you will find us a very student-centred school with very approachable and talented staff. We are currently located in multiple centres in the Institute but we will be moving in the next year or so to a newly refurbished PJ Carroll’s building on the main campus. This should be one of many exciting events ahead for this young school.
