DkIT Library will host a seminar on ‘Evolving identities: collaboration to enhance student success’ on Thursday 23rd May 2019 aimed at anyone working in any aspect of education.
The seminar will focus on the capacity building and professional development that takes place when staff and students engage in collaborative initiatives. It will use Whitchurch’s Third Space concept to investigate innovative and collaborative activities that blur the boundaries between the roles of academic, professional staff and students.
The event is intended to encourage staff to challenge established roles and identities and work more effectively together to support student learning. There will be an opportunity to further explore the concept of Third Space (Professor Julian McDougall, Bournemouth University; Simone Tyrell, Deakin University, Melbourne).
Stories of collaborative projects that are already taking place will also be presented (Elaine Harrington, UCC; DkIT academic and professional staff).
This seminar forms part of the National Forum for Teaching and Learning’s National Seminar Series.
