If you’re unsure of which journals cover the research field of your article topic, a good place to start is the reference list of the article itself. You can also look at the reference lists of other articles in the same area, or see journal titles divided by subject area under the Publications tab in MultiSearch. Also consider:
- Would you like to make the article available in open access?
- Is the journal peer reviewed? See the publisher site for information on peer review
- What is the Impact Factor of the journal? Check in:
Scopus Journal Analyzer (abstract and citation database)
Journal Metrics for research analytics
Publish or Perish for research analytics
See Beall’s List of predatory open access publishers that should be avoided. Do a background check if you are considering submitting an article to one of these publishers.
