Course Summary

IT services is a key function in any medium or large organisation. This four-year honours degree course will enable students learn how to analyse, evaluate, design and manage information technology systems and services. This course has been designed to prepare students to take a hands-on role in shaping the IT infrastructure and services within an organisation.

IT services is a key function in any medium or large organisation. You will learn to analyse, evaluate, design and manage information technology systems and services. This programme enables you to take a hands-on role in shaping the IT infrastructure and services within an organisation.

As a graduate of this programme you will be able to:

  • Plan and deliver quality IT systems and IT services
  • Manage the transition to new technologies
  • Ensure the integrity of computer and network systems
  • Manage the human and budgetary resources in an IT facility
  • Be conversant with recent developments in ICT and in a number of specialised computing topics.

Successful graduates can pursue a career in any organisation in the business, manufacturing, or services sector that relies on IT services. Typical Job Titles include;

  • Network Analyst
  • Database Administrator

Graduates with a satisfactory level of achievement will be able to undertake postgraduate (HDip/ Masters/PhD) studies.

Applicants to this programme should have successfully completed the BSc in Computing, specialising in System Administration or Networking, or an equivalent degree, with a minimum overall average of 50%.
