This 14-week part-time course is designed to enable and support nurses/midwives/health and social care professionals to become skilled and confident to incorporate psychosocial interventions into their practice.

This course is for nurses/midwives/health and social care professionals and aims to equip them with the knowledge and skills to apply psychosocial interventions safely and appropriately with services users and their families/carers within his/her scope of nursing practice. The course was developed in conjunction with mental health experts and practitioners to address a recognised service need.

The course takes place over one semester (14 weeks) with a combination of in-class and on-line delivery.

Nurses/midwives must be registered on the appropriate division of the live register maintained by The Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI) or equivalent

OR

  • Health and social care professionals who have a primary degree and registered with a recognised professional body

AND

  • Currently employed in a clinical setting in which the utilisation of the course material can contribute to quality care.

AND

Currently employed in a professional role with a scope of practice which is congruent with the utilisation of the course material within a clinical context.
