Course Summary
This is a 1-and-a-half-year (3 semesters) Level 7 programme which offers individuals the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and competencies in the exciting area of operational excellence. The programme is designed to give a holistic understanding of operational excellence and the dynamics of supply chain management.

The aim of the programme is to offer individuals the opportunity to develop an understanding of the dynamics of supply chains and to enhance their ability to continually improve operational performance. For example, operational performance in relation to the flow of goods and information through the value chain from order, materials acquisition to final consumption, to maximise customer value and achieve a sustainable competitive advantage.
Continually improving operational performance can be a real advantage for companies to ensure they keep pace with changes in their industry sector across the various processes and technologies that support effective utilisation of key resources, cost-effectiveness and that customer value.
This programme will incorporate major aspects of data analytics, supply chain management, digitization, warehousing, logistics and lean systems.

*The 'Industry Project in Operational Excellence' module will see students undertake a real-world operational excellence project for the duration of the course. This project will require students to research a problem and identify potential solutions, followed by implementing a solution and analysing the final result.
This course is delivered using a blended learning approach with weekly interactive and hands-on classroom-based sessions supported by independent and online learning.
In Semester One class contact time per week is 7 hours; Wednesdays (6-9pm), Thursdays (6-9pm) with 1 hour on a Friday which is online individual contact with your supervisor. This is subject to change.
Operational Improvement Manager, Supply Chain Coordinator, Supply Chain Manager, Procurement Specialist, Warehousing Manager.
Total course fee: €2,500 payable as follows.

Instalment 1 = €1,100 is payable by 28th February
Instalment 2 = €1,250 is payable by 31st October

Applicants should already hold a QQI Level 6 qualifications or equivalent. (Applicants who do not have a Level 6 award may still apply and may be considered for an interview.)
Applicants who do not meet the minimum education requirements but are 23 years or older and have relevant work experience may still apply for consideration by the Institute. If you are applying as a mature student be sure to submit your CV and any letters of reference you have from employers.
Equivalent industry recognition may be given through the Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) process on an individual case-by-case basis to candidates who have not yet achieved this academic standard but who can demonstrate significant relevant professional experience.
International students must have English level of IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent).
This programme would be ideally suited to those seeking to gain practical knowledge in the area of operational excellence and who wish to continually improve their supply chain performance, through operational excellence techniques.
