This beginners 10-week welding course is designed to kickstart your welding career, providing you with the welding techniques and confidence required to pursue a career in the welding industry.

This course introduces different welding techniques used in industry.
Students will have the opportunity to develop their knowledge and learn the basics of welding as well as the opportunity to specialise in the area of welding that is of particular interest to them. See course content for list of topics covered.
Students will cover the following topics:
- Safety and Basic welding techniques
- Blow back arrestors
- Arc welding
- Regulator settings and gas bottle construction
- Calibration
- TIG welding
- Electrode choice
- MIG welding
- Welding in horizontal and vertical positions
- Shield gas choice
- Oxy-acetylene welding and brazing
- Wire size
- Blowtorch set-up and nozzle choice for different applications
- Equipment set-up
- Safety features in welding equipment
- Welding techniques for steel and aluminum
One class of two hours per week for 10 weeks running as follows:
Group 1 - Mondays - 7.00pm - 9.00pm (BOOKED OUT)
Group 2 - Wednesdays - 7.00pm - 9.00pm
There are no formal entry requirements
The course is suitable for a wide range of students and craft persons, for example: the self-employed, farmers and young people who are new entrants to the industry.
