This course has been developed in partnership with industry in response to shortage of qualified Construction Project Managers. It is anticipated that this course will be CIOB accredited.

The course includes subjects pertinent to the practice of Construction Project Management professionals. The course's focus is strongly oriented towards Project Management Practice, including Law, ICT, Construction Project Control, Economics alongside an Individual Research Project.

Learners will complete 6 core modules (45 credits) alongside Individual Research Project (15 credits).

The content of the programme, delivered over 1 year (2 years part-time), includes subjects pertinent to the practice of Construction Project Management professionals. The programme’s focus is strongly oriented towards Project Management Practice, including Law, ICT, Construction Project Control, Economics alongside an Individual Research Project.

Learners will complete 6 core modules (45 credits) alongside Individual Research Project (15 credits).

The core (mandatory) modules are:

  • Project Management
  • Construction Law
  • BIM Management - ICT
  • Construction Project Control
  • Property Economics
  • Individual Research Project

Elective modules:

  • Professional Practice

This B.Sc. (Hons) in Construction Project Management is a one-year full time (two year part-time) course. Learners will be expected to attend DkIT one day per week for part time delivery

Timetable for Semester 1, Year 1 is attendance all-day Fridays 9.00am-6.00pm (subject to change)

Also you should be aware that it may be necessary to attend for 3 full days in January prior to recommencement of normal classes and 3 full days during the Easter break in order to facilitate/deliver in some of the modules.

For full time delivery, students will be expected to attend Monday to Friday in accordance with DkIT academic calendar.

Induction on Friday 14th September with course commencing on Friday 21st September.

Total course fee: €4,500.00.

€2,250.00 per annum (payable in two instalments of €1,125.00 each).

Instalment 1 is payable when accepting your place on the course.

Instalment 2 is payable prior to commencement of Semester 2 in January 2019.

For entry to the course, applicants should have successfully completed a Level 7 Bachelor of Science in a cognate area such as Construction Technology or Construction Management (obtaining 50% average) or equivalent.

DkIT also recognises prior learning experience for candidates who may not meet normal entry requirements.

This course has been designed to upskill construction professionals and provides technically trained personnel to work in a number of areas within the construction sector including: Project Management, Construction Management, Facility Management, Property Management, Consultants within both public and private sector.

Construction Managers have many responsibilities including: Project Planning, Resource Allocation, Staff Management, Setting Bench-marks alongside Budget Management. Students will study topics which are essential to the everyday life of the professional construction project manager.
