Course Summary

This special purpose award has been developed especially for owners and managers of businesses in or expanding into the food tourism sector.

The modules delivered on this course are;

  1. Marketing,
  2. Management Accounting,
  3. Strategic Business Planning for the Food Tourism Sector,
  4. Digital Marketing
  5. Human Resources in Organisations

The addition of a human resources module will support participants by giving them the essential skills and knowledge necessary to recruit and retain the right people to achieve their strategic objectives. The focus of these carefully chosen modules along with an applied learning approach is a powerful and unique combination which will result in a positive commercial impact.

The course will be delivered 2 evenings per week (3 hours, every Tuesday and Thursday evening) for 12 weeks and on 4 Saturday mornings (4 hours) in each semester.

This programme has been developed by DkIT in collaboration with Meath and Louth Local Enterprise Offices (LEO's) who have heavily subsidised the programme fee’s to encourage engagement from producers and food tourism providers across both counties. The cost per participant is €350.

Places will be allocated on a first come, first served basis to participants who meet the eligibility criteria so don’t delay!

Applicants should already hold a Level 6 award in any discipline.

Applicants who will be 23 years of age on January 1st of the year of application and who do not have the academic qualifications will be interviewed.
