All registered Dundalk IT students are allowed to connect their laptops, smartphones and tablets to the eduroam Student Wi-Fi service. To have a device connected to the wireless network please follow the steps below.

eduroam also allows Dundalk IT students to have instant Wi-Fi access at other affiliated institutions all over the world. Please see https://www.eduroam.org/index.php?p=where for more details.

eduroam provide a very useful configuration assistant tool (eduroam CAT) to help streamline eduroam access. Please see https://cat.eduroam.org/.

-- How to configure your device --

To connect to the eduraom Wi-Fi service simply select eduroam from the available Wi-Fi networks and choose connect. Your username is your Dundalk IT Student ID as StudentID@dkit.ie (e.g. 123456789@dkit.ie) and your password is your Student IT Account password.

N.B. If you are running Windows 7 however, follow the manual configuration instructions below.

-- How to manually configure your device for eduroam Wi-Fi --

Windows 7

• In the start menu type Manage wireless networks and select.
• Choose Add and Manually create a network profile.
• Enter the network name as eduroam and choose security type as WPA2-Enterprise.
• Click Next and Change connection settings.
• Select the security tab and choose the settings button
• Untick Validate server certificate.
• Under Select Authentication method choose Configure. 
• Untick Automatically use my Windows... and click OK.
• Click OK and OK again.
• Click Advanced settings.
• Select Specify Authentication mode and selet User Authentication
• Enter your DkIT Student IT account details as StudentID@dkit.ie and your password when prompted.

Any other Windows device

• Select eduroam from the available Wi-Fi networks in the bottom right hand corner. 
• Enter your DkIT Student IT account details as StudentID@dkit.ie and your password.
• Choose Connect

All Apple Devices

• Select eduroam from the available Wi-Fi networks in the top right corner.
• Enter your DkIT Student IT account details as StudentID@dkit.ie and your password.
• Choose Connect.

 Android

• Go to Wi-Fi settings and select eduroam.
• Leave EAP method as PEAP .
• Leave Phase 2 authentication to MSCHAPV2.
• Set Identity to your StudentID@dkit.ie.
• Leave Anonymous Identity blank.
• Set password to your DkIT Student IT Account password.

Kindle

• Go to the home screen.
• Select Menu and Turn On Wireless from the list of options.
• Select Menu and Settings.
• Select eduroam from the list of Wi-Fi networks.
• Enter your DkIT Student IT account details as StudentID@dkit.ie and your password.
• Choose Connect.

-- How to use DkIT Mobile Printing --

To print a document from your mobile device please do the following:

1. Log into your Dundalk IT email account.
2. Email the document you wish to print to: studentprinting@dkit.ie
3. Your print job will be queued up against your SafeQ account.
4. Please wait for an email response informing you if your job has been successfully sent.
5. Then proceed with the normal steps on printing a print job.

Please note:

• The email must be sent from your DkIT email account.
• If the document has colour in it, it will be printed in colour.
