Eithen Jordan
Eithen Jordan was born in Dublin. In 1972-76, he attended Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology, in Dublin, and in 1984-85 he attended the Hochschule der Künste, in Berlin. Jordan was elected member of Aosdana in 1990. He is now based in Dublin but also in the South of France.
Since the 1980's he has held a lot of solo exhibitions on his work in France, Germany, Italy and in Ireland. As well as the solo exhibitions, he has also held numerous group exhibitions on his work in Europe.
He has won numerous awards: In 2009 Jordan was elected as a member of the RHA. In 2007
Arts Council Travel Award, 1994 E.V.+A. prize for painting, 1990 elected Member of Aosdana, 1986 Guinness Peat Aviation Award, 1985 Arts Council Bursary for painting, 1984/85 he won the DAAD scholarship to West Berlin. In 1982 he won the Arts Council Bursary, and in 1978 he won the Arts Council bursary.
As well as exhibiting his work, he has also taken up residencies in a number of places such as:RHA studios, Dublin in 2010, Irish Museum of Modern Art, Dublin in 2009, Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Mayo, Ireland in 2008, Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Mayo, in 2007, Centre Culturel Irlandais, Paris, and Artist's Fellowship, Ballinglen Arts Foundation, Mayo, in 2005, and the Tyrone Guthrie Centre, Annaghmakerrig, in 1987-88.
