Formed in 2007, The North East Further & Higher Education Alliance (NEFHEA) is underpinned by a Memorandum of Understanding. Members are committed to working together to enhance progression opportunities for students from further to higher education; to collaborate on course design and development in response to regional needs and to sharing expertise and resources.
NEFHEA has particularly focussed on enabling more students from further education institutes to join DkIT academic programmes and there are progression arrangements in place which, in general, enable students from further education institutes who have successfully completed their programmes to join the second year of specific DkIT programmes.

Getting to DkIT through the NEFHEA Alliance
One of the ambitions of NEFHEA is to enable easier access to higher education and to support seamless progression from Further Education to Higher Education. This means that arrangements are now in place whereby students who complete their FE programme can gain access to the second year of a selection of DkIT programmes.
